Welcome Dr. Blaichia Thao: The Foot Doctors’ Newest Podiatrist in Springfield

We are excited to welcome Dr. Blaichia Thao, DPM, to The Foot Doctors.

She and her husband recently moved from Michigan to Missouri, and they are already making Springfield home. “We are Wisconsinites at heart,” she says, “and we are so excited to plant our roots here.” That is exactly how it feels when you meet her — someone who came to the Ozarks to stay.

Dr. Thao earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Des Moines University after completing a B.S. in Microbiology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She finished her surgical residency at Henry Ford Warren Hospital in Warren, Michigan, and is board qualified in foot and rearfoot surgery by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery. She now joins Dr. Mark Seiden and Dr. Michael Marling at our office on East Montclair.

What stands out right away is her kindness — and how sincerely she cares about the people she meets. When she is not seeing patients, she is usually with her two dogs, Shadow and Koda. She bakes sourdough, whisks up a fresh matcha, and likes exploring local wineries and coffee shops. On quieter days she reads, takes photos, or walks the dogs. Looking ahead, her dream is a farm with a backyard garden — and chickens, cows, goats, sheep, and ducks. In other words, she did not just take a job in Springfield. She came ready to build a life here.
